Framing

Framing is the one stage where mistakes get expensive later. Walls that are out of plumb, openings that are the wrong size and sheathing that is not properly nailed off all show up months down the line as sticking doors, failed flashing and siding that will not lie flat. We build it square, sheathe and tape it, and get it dried in.

Because we finish exteriors as well, we frame with the finish in mind: openings sized for the actual windows, backing where the trim and gutters will land, and the details worked out before the sheathing goes on rather than after.
